AW2 Difficulty Hack by Mark999

Post by Mark999 » Mon Dec 03, 2007 7:57 am

Gonna play AW2, yeah.

Image

BLAH BLAH BLAH get to the game already!

Image

Gonna kick Flak's...wait...what the...dude! How'd Flak get a MD Tank?! And why am I playing as Nell?!

Well...I'll tell you why!

Have you ever wished AW2 was harder? Well, now it is. This hack aims to make the game much harder than it was 5 minutes ago. Don't expect to see production facilities of your color. What you see is what you've got. Wait, there's more! The COs who've stayed out of combat for the most part have returned to show us what they've got. Ever wanted to play as Nell in the campaign? Done. Always wanted to fight a clone of Hachi? You got it. It's all very much harder, boys and girls and genderless. You'll even find tweaked COs and a new storyline. Not to mention HILARIOUS CO power quotes.

Apply the IPS Patch to a CLEAN AW2 US (NOT EURO) ROM.

In the current version, Orange Star's campaign has changed, Blue Moon's Campaign is half-finished, there are two new War Room maps (actually they're not that new they're edits of existing War Room maps), and there is one new VS Map. Enjoy.

Looks really good.

I'll add it to the 'AW 1 and 2 Hacks' page.

In fact, I need to update the map editor this weekend.

I've released an update:

Download Link (Current Version: 0.2)

Orange Star's campaign is finished. Oh, and a heads-up to anyone playing the factory level: You must destroy ALL the pipe seams, not just the one at the top.

This is by no means hard.

In fact, it's easier than NC at times

Cool, I'll give it a try.

Sorry if this is a little off-topic, but it's been ages since I've been here.

What's new? Any luck with warlord?

I presume he is using the current version I updated months ago.

I actually asked the creator to fix a few bugs in it in August, can't be bothered to look them up now but the main important one was when a map with no units is added, the header in the rom is '00000000' instead of '00000008' which before added units in.

Unless the creator sent the update of one of the files to other people besides me (or someone hacked into my romhacking.net account, lol), only I and the creator have the latest version.

I hope to release the update tomorrow or Wednesday. There were some other things that I would like the creator to add but I'll need to send him an e-mail again and see if he's got time to add them.

The main thing is, the bugs are fixed. Just got to release it.

As for the hack, I'll give a try this week.

"Screw the rules! I have money!" is from Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series. Freakin' classic.

I uploaded the IPS to a different host when I found out that that site requires a Download Client. The link is in the first post of this topic. Sorry about that.

EDIT: Version 0.3 is released. Say hello to Grit's little friend: BM's Campaign is half-finished.
