Well, that was pretty much the hint I was pointing at. All those effects listed with the SCOP are in addition to the COP. That includes getting another turn for all units that have moved already.

It might seem to do relatively little, but it also has a bit of a psychological effect on your opponent, which would be quite dreadful when it is priced at a mere 3 stars. Basically, it forces opponents to guard chokepoints twice as heavy, as Zed's COP can easily annihilate one when it's been timed right. Also, air units are very powerful with this COP, as they can make hit and run attacks on enemy key units without having to fear any retaliation by anti-air units.
Well I guess that this is AW2... In AWDS, Eagle easily does that air unit thing. Gets to move around like crazy... While having another but weaker attack.

As for the psychological effect... Every power does that, and the more often you can use it, the more of an effect it has. *points at sideslip*

And it's that much harder to time a power well when your opponent can use his COP first and severe a strat which required a certain unit to still be at full health.

And seriously, if it takes 3 tanks and your COP to beat a tank and severe the artillery which is just behind in a tight choke...

So I think it's probably better off at 3 stars. But that's only my opinion and some think that Lightning drive DS is just way too strong.

Oh, sorry, misinterpretation...I thought that paragraph I quoted first was about flashback >.<.

OK, lemme see...don't expect any balance stuff or coherent stuff, just my opinion.

I kinda like this CO, I like the way it acts and how you provide great abilities for...err...unsure players like me. Flashback is basically a hit and run CO Power, the ability to do a "suicide" attack to destroy important units and use the COP power to move the units back to a safe position. Or scout a dangerous place on FOW and use the COP to move them back to their original position...this COP power can be pretty good on several situations and pretty much useless on some others, this makes it terrific on good hands and....err...lacking on untrained hands. If I had to compare it with someone, I would compare it with Olaf's blizzard, and, same way I like the strategyness of Blizzard, I like this COP. Don't change a thing.

The SCOP is basically the COP with some extra cheesiness. Your units are now with replenished HP and ammo and can attack again. Comparing again with Olaf (GOD I am Olaf-obssessed XD) this power has the extra things that makes it and Winter Fury more..err...newb-friendly. People will start using more the SCOP comparing it with LS and after that will discover its true power an such....or just give up and choose another CO XD.

Overall, this is for sure an unique CO that experienced players will love and newbie players will hate. You have very strategic powers with absolutely no fireboost that will require some thought before using it, making Zed a CO that requires more brains than brawls, something I really appreciate on a CO. Great, simply great, I love it.

heropsychodreamer01 wrote:Name: Zed
Alliance: Image Turquoise Corona

Description: Zed looks kinda like the stereotype professor, with white hair standing in every direction and a bald crown. He doesn't wear any glasses, though. In his left hand, he holds an hourglass at about the height of his eyes. He wears a white lab-coat that almost reaches to his shoes. Behind his lab-coat, he wears a brown set of pants and shoes.

Biography: Originally, Zed worked for the Turquoise Corona government, as one of the most skilled scientists. In these days, Zed was very specialised in petrol chemistry. He made a lot of discoveries, mainly on fuel efficiency and refinery. It was especially interesting for the TC Army, which was in dire need of improvements. Turquoise Corona's economy was getting boasted because of these discoveries, and the country started to consume more and more oil. This also made him a prime player in the oil crisis that followed a few decades after.

In the civil war that followed on the oil crisis, Zed became more and more affiliated with the TC army. His knowledge of the small amount of oil that was left was needed to win the war. Eventually, TC more or less won. But the oil reserves now only had a few drops left.

Action had to be taken. TC planned to send out an army and tankers to uncharted territory and search for oil in lands that have been forgotten in the centuries that had passed. Zed needed to go with them on this journey, and was trained as a CO in the period between the civil war and the search for oil. During this period of time, Zed became particularly interested in the workings of time, and he made some interesting new discoveries on the manipulation of time. These discoveries eventually made their way into the TC army, and are now used by Zed to give him an extra edge in combat. These devices are still in an experimental state, though, and cannot function all the time.

Personality: Zed is very intelligent, but he's not yet very experienced with warfare. He is also very polite and isn't known to be rude to anyone, not even his enemy. He hates to rush things, he likes it a lot more to sit down and work things out slowly.

:hit: Science
:miss: Rush hour

:skill: Without his time-devices active, Zed is just a plain CO with 100/100 stats for all units.

Power bar: :smallstar::smallstar::smallstar::smallstar::bigstar::bigstar::bigstar::bigstar::bigstar:

:power: Flashback
Zed's units use their time-devices to turn their position backwards to their starting point.

All of Zed's units are set back in the initial place they were on at the start of this turn. Any units built before triggering the COP will be reverted back to funds again, so no unit collision can occur.

:super: Reset the Clock
The time-devices start working on their maximum ability, fully resetting the clock to the start of the day.

In addition to the effects of Flashback, all HP lost by Zed's units this turn is regenerated (destroyed units don't come back to life, though), fuel and ammo lost this turn is replenished (except for the daily fuel loss of air/naval units) and all of Zed's units are allowed to move again.

Power quotes: "I need more time!"
"This will only take a minute!"
"Your time is running out!"
"This just isn't your lucky day!"
"I don't have time for you!"

Victory quotes: "Wait a minute, I win!"
"You need to work on your timing."

Name: 3/5
Zed isn't a name in my book. If it has some special significance, then I missed it.

Bio: 8/10
Zed's history explains the time travel aspect of his powers, though I still have to admit time travel is somewhat outrageous. I dislike the addition of a new army to Advance Wars. His description reminds me of Albert Wily from the Mega Man series, with the hourglass in his hand. As for his personality, it works for the scientist archetype.

Quotes: 4/5
The quotes work. You are missing one power quote though. Some of the quotes are rather cheesy though, especially since the word "time" is mentioned in three of them.

Creativity Score: 15/20

Skill: 0/0
BLAND

COP: 35/40
I LOVE the possibilities with the power. I cannot count the number of times I could have used an ability that allowed me to strike the same unit twice in a chokepoint, or helped me move my units that accidently moved into indirect range. Functionally, it is similar to Lightning Drive grants in AW:DS, but it is without the added movement. It also avoids the difficulty of having two units occupying the same position. As such, I feel this is overpriced by a star. You can get away with 3 stars in my opinion HPD.

SCOP: 38/40
Now THIS is a SCOP. All the wonderful abilities of the COP, and now we have a game-changing force behind it. Anyway, enough praise with the SCOP. Functionally, it's Lightning Strike without the benefit of 2x movement. Instead, we have replenished fuel and ammunition, as well as negating the counterattack damage dealt by the opposition. If we eliminate the star from the COP, this makes the meter :smallstar: :smallstar: :smallstar: :bigstar: :bigstar: :bigstar: :bigstar: :bigstar:. However, I feel the benefits Zed gains from the SCOP is more than enough to compensate for the loss of a possible 2x movement. It is a fairly priced power at 9 stars.

Technical Score: 73/80

Total: 88/100 :arank:
As an AW player, the strategic aspects behind Zed almost makes me want to cry out with excitement. Really, I never had so much interest in a CCO before yours HPD. Kudos. I'm not giving you an S-rank until you drop the COP price to 3 stars, creating a 3/9 meter. Then you can get your 3 points and the S-rank you so richly deserve with this CO.
