I now interrupt the computer crumpets to bring you a word from my sponsors!

ANTS

did you know?

one species of ant has the fastest predatory appendage in the world!
Image
its jaw bits snap shut in 130 microseconds!

did you know?

honeypot ants can act as living food storage!
Image
I wonder why they're called honeypot ants!

did you know?

many ant and aphid species are total bros!
Image
aphids are kinda cute!

entomologist is a pretty great skill! it gives you 50% extra damage VS bugs!

did you know?

I don't have a cool factoid for this, I just thought it'd be cool to poke a straw in a water droplet!
Image
that's supposed to be honey but it looks more like water!

some ants are used as food!
Image
most humans don't use bugs for food even though bugs are like the most common animal!

ants can even be used for crime fighting!
Image
but in real life blood can be extracted from them to identify corpses which is kinda cool in a gross way???!

If antman shrinks to ant size when he puts on his costume why doesn't spiderman shrink to spider size?

And why aren't ant-man and spider-man mortal enemies who fight each other over ant-size things?

1. use a backup from 2010!
2. buy a refurbished computer for $50!
3. upgrade to windows 10 and hope that fixes things!
4. LINUX ?????
5. pretend nothing is wrong!

It's literally just download the installer and click on it. Then you can pretty much just follow on screen instructions.

Just remember: rm -r /* is not a good idea.

(I think I typed that right, but it's not something I intend to check).

Edit: actually in any directory, rm * is a bad idea, which you'd be surprised how many people I have come across who don't realise that before they do it. Largely, they won't do it again.

(rm is remove - ie. delete, and * is a wildcard - hence why said command is a bad idea - bear that in mind and you might not end up deleting stuff you need to make your linux box run).

It can--newer ones are tricky tho!

Be wary one of one thing though: open source office software is awful! I tried using LibreOffice and OpenOffice and they're nowhere near Excel. Which is such crumpets because Excel itself blows!

It has been a few years though maybe they have improved.

Nope. If anything, Excel is even further ahead now. I also switched to Excel a while ago since I just can't stand LibreOffice anymore.

Eh, I found LibreOffice fine when I did use it - if you only ever use simple formulas and stuff in your spreadsheets you'll be fine. Just don't try moving between Word and Libre/OpenOffice, it'll ruin everything.

So, kiwi shouted something about Linux, quarantined the upper floor of the building, and has not been seen or heard since. Does converting to Linux usually cause such a protracted metamorphosis?
