January sucks. I love Christmas and I always hate to see it go. January has loads of birthdays so it's also expensive. I hate seeing all of the Christmas decorations come down. Everything looks so bare and boring. I hate it.

I'm already getting that sort of crap feeling. Does anyone else suffer from something similar?

Eh, I love January. Long, hot and (until now, at least) free of things I have to do. I feel for you poor people in the northern hemisphere.

The first half of January is going to be fairly rubbish (exams etc), the second half is going to be amazing (you can probably guess why).

The only saving grace of January is the fact that it's very cold. I hate hot weather. I also, like Fal, have loads of exams in January.

I agree with Beyond Good and Evil and Shadow of the Colossus. I did not like what little I played of ICO.

Don't joke about committing suicide, it's not funny. If you're not joking, get help now, seriously. Don't let it get any worse. It eats at you, you end up doing something stupid, and if you fudge up, you have this nagging sense of failure for the rest of your life.

Again, suicide's not funny. Don't joke.

As for how I feel about January, I should know about college at that point, so I should be uplifted. I also only have one midterm. In general, I feel pretty good about January. It could suck balls if I get rejected from UofH, though.

How about a suicide where nobody dies, huh? Is that okay? >_>

Nah, forget it, that was stupid, even by my standards.

Anyway, ICO was awesome. It's was more of an adventure game with pastel graphics and an awe inspiring story that was told through feelings instead of words. A game like that only comes once every few years, and it's always by the same developer.

Come back when you've experienced a heat wave. It was a record 120 F here in California back in 1990-something. Oh God, that was a hot day...

The regular summer season has us facing an average of very roughly 95-105 F.

The thing is, it doesn't actually matter about the relative temperatures of our respective summers - being British, talking about the weather is pretty much a national pastime, and complaining about it even more so.

I've seriously thought about suicide before. I figure that unless one can make a joke out of ones' misfortunes and think positively, what is the point in ones' life?

Life is about humour. While suicide in itself is not funny. At all. It does help soothe the pain. Heck, if I didn't joke about my "emo-ness" I don't think I'd even be here typing.

I have a VERY low self-esteem. I've had panic-attacks, speech impediments, fits and all sorts cos of it. And unless I can think positively about those things, and joke at MYSELF (Not other people), then I might as well go start slitting my wrists now.

Isn't it amazing how every so often a topic degenerates into another weather discussion? It's the forum equivalent of that awkward conversational silence that's only temporarily quelled by mutual appreciation or abhorrence of the current weather, only this time we compare notes.

41C? I'd die. I really would. So would half of England.

Seriously, we must be such pussies. I consider 30C to be "omg im meeeelting", and anything under 10C is "omg freeeezing". Last year school closed because it was -1C and it was snowing. (And it never snows here.)
