This is The Thunder

Post by The Thunder » Thu Jun 11, 2015 12:21 am

Hey guys! I've come to introduce my fan-made Advance Wars designs, but I noticed that there's actually been some recent activity in the Design Room. Oh, I'll still show you people my creations. You can link to a section on my personal web site where I am introducing my "project" ideas via my signature if you like.

Some of them are. Say, didn't you come up with Nana? I'm planning to draw her for this at some point too. Speaking of Custom Wars, does anyone know the status of that project? For some reason, I keep thinking it's in development hell or something.

Oh, so that's where the parody Filler7 came from. The video game Killer7. Even the logo was a parody. Yes, I read the "Totally Flaked" comic. Epic hilarity.

Actually, I got my user name idea from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX character Jun "Black Thunder" Manjoume, the character for my avatar. So who's the Lightning? I have no idea.

I hear that Custom Wars Tactics is still somewhat of a work in progress, maybe inheriting the ideas from Custom Wars, I dunno.

Custom Wars Tactics is kind of a spiritual successor to Custom Wars, focusing more on the original content than the customization for now. To put it bluntly, let's just say we have a lot of tidying up to do on our end, but the project is still moving along. For information on what's going on, just check out the links below...

Welcome to WWN, and I hope you enjoy your stay here. I'll be keeping an eye on your projects as they mature.

I've seen stuff on those sites and the only thing that doesn't impress me is the use of recycled music for some of the custom COs (Sophie, Rattigan, Robosturm, just to name a few). I'm sure there are more talented MIDI designers so that there can be an original theme for every CCO.

Also, I've seen CWT on Facebook.

Oh, wait... My projects? You will? Cool.

Actually, if I recall the music was original for every CCO, but when the project died everyone used the assets for other things.

The height of Custom Wars' Zenith was a looooong time ago, pre-Days of Ruin at the very least. So we're looking at something like 8+ years ago.

...

Whoa.

I'll say. Those were back in the days when Geocities and Altavista existed, I'm sure. Nowadays, there's Dropbox, SoundCloud, Photobucket and such. It's like back when we had Blockbusters.

I plan to draw Nana myself at some point... after I get around to drawing Olaf. My brother requested him, so he comes first.
