I was going to make a joke about how I like Westworld because it's just tits, guns and robots and it's that too.

But I think it's simply the best TV show I have ever seen.

I finished House of Cards' four seasons in a two month time span.

Looking back, a bit of it was meandering and filler, but I still loved it. Frank Underwood is one of the most lovable assholes ever.

Rogue One feels like the first SW movie that's made not so much for kids but for people like me. And Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons.

It's great. Go see.

I think Rogue One was the only one for me this year actually

I kind of wanted to see The Martian but then I just couldn't be bothered. I mean I know it's about Matt Damon on Mars so I've pretty much seen it already right

Wait was that in the last year

watching anime again

overlord was better than expected
rokka no yuusha was better than expected

low expectations is definitely the way to go with anime

also same as bonesy as far as twin peaks goes

So I went to see Valerian... I guess the visuals were cool

It's pretty much the same as that Besson's other sci-fi space opera, Fifth Element, all style and no substance. Beautiful visuals with barely a story attached to them. Now I don't really remember enough about the comics to say exactly how faithful the story was but I think with the richness of the source material they could have done something better than another weak ass Avatar wannabe complete with a guilt-tripping "eebils are so human" moral and CG'd humanoid noble savages. But at least the spaceship looked like the clunky one from the comic and oh! I remember those guys over there. But I'm pretty sure Laureline wasn't a post-modern emotionless unrelatable turbobitch despite being a strong female character and wasn't the comic actually called Valerian AND Laureline but I guess the marketing guys know nobody cares about the woman co-star. Look! We have Rihanna as a space hooker for some reason!

So I'm rewatching the original Twin Peaks and I realised I've forgotten like 95% of everything.

It's almost like seeing it for the first time again. This is pretty great.

It means I will never need to watch anything new again. I can just keep rewatching crumpets I saw twenty years ago.

I have that with many things. The amount of games I could replay or especially books I should reread scares me a bit. Or you just put up a lot more with redoing stuff as a kid...

I'm moderately enjoying Star Trek Discovery despite what all the angry nerds on the internet are frothing about.

It's a train wreck lmao

But like a good train wreck it's fascinating to watch. All the hardcore trekkies being all assblasted about it only makes it funnier

To me it's increasingly feeling like someone managed to disguise a sequel to David Lynch's Dune as a modern Star Trek show.
