Terra Maw Strategy

infantry apc day 1 to grab port asap
artillery mob sonja's bship, aa to deal with t-copter'd infantry

All COs will reach port at the same time
Sami and Drake reach Sonja HQ island 1 day faster (I believe max speed was 15, too lazy to check)
All other COs are 1 day slower
I have no idea what Max would do with the strategy I described, but I suspect it would be easy to do the artillery thing on the battleships with him too

randomness during HQ capture is a little iffy for nonsami COs

Pivot Isle - Grit - 8 days - 999

Tested out DTaeKim's strategy (on the main site). It worked, but I note one error - he says Eagle's anti-air may attack your tank on Day 6; I believe this is suppose to be noted on Day 7 instead.

Now I just need to get 999 on Point Stormy and I'll have perfect scores for all maps on cart.

I've got 999 points on all maps now.

Point Stormy - Max - 15 days - 999

Started out following kikutaro's guide, then I just ended up improvising. Took the HQ just in time, though one-hitting nearly everything made it pretty easy to protect the infantry once I had a secure landing spot.

Ridge Island - Kanbei - 8 days - 999

One day faster than DTK due to favorable damage. I was discussing this with him last night; in that conversation, though, I miscalculated the luck needed for the infantry to retain 5 HP. What I actually worked out was the luck needed to retain *6 HP*. 5 HP still takes a fair amount of luck, but not an insane amount. The fact that you're being attacked by Grit (weak recons) and using Kanbei (high defense) on an HQ (4-stars) makes it possible. Having this happen twice means you can finish the capture sooner.

Edit: It turns out my original calculations were actually rather close, I didn't realize that until I looked at the AW1 damage formula. Under the later formula, it would have been impossible for me to drop below 8 HP on the first attack and so 5 HP wouldn't be that unlikely. Under the AW1 formula, though, base damage for the two attacks is 26 for the first, and then 30 for the second if the infantry manages to keep 8 HP. If Grit gets more than three points of luck between the two attacks, I'm left with 4 HP.

Land's End - Sonja - 12 days - 999... now done on cart!

For those who aren't familiar with my Land's End strategy - essentially, the trick is to allow Olaf to capture two of your starting bases, and immediately destroy everything he builds there. This way, he'll be spending all his money rebuilding from those bases and you can rout him without getting anywhere near his HQ. I did pretty much the same thing here, though it took a lot of attempts to get favorable enemy movement early on.

The hardest part ended up being working out where to move on Day 11 so I could finish on Day 12. The northwest proved fairly simple to finish up; the southeast was tougher. I also had to send my fighter towards his airports because he was going to build a B-Copter. Normally, in such a case I'd build missiles to destroy the bomber in the southeast, but as money was a little scarce, I built a second anti-air in that area instead.

Olaf also built a tank, probably because I destroyed his initial one, but if I didn't destroy any infantry, he wouldn't build anything besides that and the B-Copter. This is the main reason I could get away with using two anti-air on the bomber - the only units in that area were the bomber, the newly-built tank, and a severely weakened infantry.

However, taking that tank out proved tricky - I ended up having to use two mechs and an infantry for it, which meant I needed to keep trying a whole bunch of times before I could finally wipe it out. I could have used three mechs and easily taken care of it if I'd moved differently on Day 11, but by the time I realized that, I'd already moved the third mech out of range.

Anyways, I finally got the craziest score ever on cart, so I'm happy.

Dozens. That said, the worst part is waiting for the right initial movement:

-Olaf moves his first battle copter south.
-Olaf moves his Mid Tank west.

The first one is pretty rare, and the second one has an annoying habit of not happening when the first one does.

Luckily, a lot of the movement after that was close to how it went in my video, so I was pretty sure I had a winnable position on my hands. That gave me some freedom to save on each turn so I could get the right damage. That said, on Day 11, it's probably best to *not* save in the middle of the turn until after doing some significant experimenting. As it turned out, I had a very favorable position on the last turn; but if I hadn't saved after attacking Olaf's infantry with a mech, I could have had a position with no significant luck required.

That's correct; saving really should only be limited to the beginning of turns or after required actions that are done as early in the turn as possible.

This is an excerpt from the AW2 S-Rank Walkthrough Guide:

 Earliest Perfect S-Rank Time: 10 Days

 Strategy: Advance lander loaded with anti-air and infantry accompanied by
    all available cruisers towards enemy HQ to destroy enemy air force and
    capture neutral airport nearest enemy HQ then enemy HQ itself; deploy at
    least two fighters to aid anti-air in protecting capturing infantry from
    enemy attack; destroy and attack as few enemy units as possible after
    eliminating original enemy air force to prevent use of Hawke's CO power;
    (enemy movement requirements after Day 5 are rather exacting, especially
    Days 6 and 7; saving at and loading from beginning of Day 4 will provide
    most possible options should enemy movement requirements not be met;
    however, luck may be tried to save at beginning of each satisfied day to
    save reloading time, despite more limited enemy movement possibility
    and chance of satisfying requirements; completion can still be obtained
    after Day 10 should allied infantry be attacked or Black Storm used if
    use of both fighters and anti-air in preventing attack is efficient enough)
Other missions in the guide recommend only saving after specific attacks that are done at the beginning of the player's turn.

edit: Floan how did you do that Ridge Island 5 days with Sami? they always build a Tank+Artillery that blocks the path to the HQ

edit2: Mial's Hope Max 8/999 new highscore improved by 2 days, all COs can get 8/999 surely but only Sami had it :roll:

i'm trying Mial's Hope with Andy atm (it's possible in 8 days for every CO of course) but i'm having bad luck with AI movement :/

8/973 with Andy, lost 5 units >_<

8/999 finally got it with 2 lost units =)

edit: got Spann Island 8/999 with Kanbei by HQ Cap ^^

STL got 8/999 on Kita Straight with Sami improved by 1 day, updated

i'm gonna try to improve some Toil Ferry scores

edit: i think i found a 11 days all CO strategy (except Kanbei), doing it with Eagle

new highscore, Toil Ferry 11/999 Eagle improved by 3 days

Max 10/999 improved by 4 days, strategy was the same but AI acted differently, should be possible with everyone (or maybe not, i need a 2HKO on Rockets on Base first and HQ later with B-Copter)

Eagle 10/999 improved by 1 day, AI acted differently once again, 9 days should be impossible, while 8 days is only possible if you're able to make the newly built AA not attack your capturing Inf, making MD not move is easy

Kanbei 10/999 improved by 2 days, it was possible with him too afterall! same strategy but AI acted really different because i couldn't make day2 B-Copter, so Kanbei has 2 days less of B-Copter worth, but he still can pull it off, AI basically has no unit near HQ except a B-Copter, you can bait with T-Copter and attack later with your B-Copter, 3HP B-Copter won't be able to hurt Kanbei's capturing Inf

GipFace got 8/999 Spann with Nell improved by 2 days, updated

Ring Islands 8/999 Max improved by 7 days, 3 kills on last day, Green Tank and Sub, Blue Lander

my strat is only possible with Max, but with a different strategy an all CO strat is possible i believe

edit: i wrote the strat was possible with Nell but it isn't, i didn't take into consideration Drake's defense

i had a strange AI movement now, i could've got it with Sonja... but i didn't save and failed to understand the situation :/

Yeah all maps expect Ring Islands are done in fastest time u can reach now, Sonja´s Lander prevents the 7 day win on Ring Islands =/
I wonder why shoe-sama earlier on this page said 9 days are possible on Dire Range....
The AI is really weird here, i wonder why it doesn´t always attack ur HQ capturing Inf...

well, i used the same strategy like i do with every other CO (actually, the B-Copter acted differently, but i don't think it would've made a difference)

i made day2 Inf+Lander, B-Copter moved 6W (i usually reload until it goes over HQ), then Lander 6E and built Tank, here AI can change where it builds and where it moves AA+Tank, i don't know if it makes a difference, i had AA west and Tank south iirc, Tank moved about 2W and AA 1S 5W i think, then on the next day you have to reload until the Art is built from west Base, if it's built from north one you can't drop near enough, and AI built Missiles in north Base blocking my way, so with Art left if you're lucky it moves west and you can go over the north Base, there you already have won and just need to get Power which is easy enough, after the Tank spam Recons and you'll end up killing enough units

i've been trying various building orders to see if it helped into making AI move the units correctly, but i didn't see any result so i just went for a Power strategy
