Ok kids, as I'm supposed to be the Ladder admin or something I thought the least I could do was set up some sort of makeshift Ladder for WWN users. Rather than rely on complex formulas and such, I'm going to steal/borrow a pretty straightforward system that's been used on AWBW's forums for some time now. Credit goes to Taz for making the original Ladder topic on AWBW: Without him, I'd have to create some crumpets system myself.

NOTE: If you want to play on a Ladder with a nicely calculated ELO ratings system, then may I direct you to AWN's DoR Ladder. Hell, you can even report the games you play on this Ladder there as well! MEGA!

So, here's how it goes:

Overview:
Every player has an individual rank in the Ladder. You can move up the ladder by challenging those above you. The player challenging is the challenger, the playing being challenged is the defender.

Challenge Rules:
- Currently, you can challenge anyone in the ladder. This will change once the ladder has been running a while.
- You can only make a maximum of two challenges at any given time.
- You cannot refuse a challenge unless you are the defender in more games than you are the challenger. If you're in the top 3, you cannot refuse a challenge unless you are currently the defender in three or more games.
- The defender has 1 week to respond to any given challenge. If the defender does not respond within this time, they take the place of the challenger, and everyone between them moves up one position.
- If the challenger wins, they take the place of the defender, and everyone between them moves down one position. If the defender wins, the ladder remains as it is.

New Players:
Once the Ladder has started, rules for new players entering the Ladder are as follows:
- The new player can make two challenges against any players he wishes, no matter their position in the ladder.
- If they win one of these challenges, they take the place of that player. If they lose both, then they're added at the bottom of the Ladder.

Battle Rules:
- For now, anything mutually agreed by the players is fine. In the event of any dispute, use the following as guidelines:
- 1000 Income, 0 Starting Funds, Level Up On, Clear Weather. Fog of War up to you. Ban Caulder/Stolos and Tabitha/Larissa (Tabitha/Larissa allowed at player's discretion).
- I'm not going to insult your intelligence by giving you a map list, you know what maps are good (and if you don't then just go look at AWBW or something).

There was some stuff about vacations in the AWBW rules but I'll deal with that later. Some of the numbers are up for change depending on the number of users we get... but other than that, get stuck in!

Is it just me or did you steal most of those rules from the AWBW ladder? >_>

Count me in, though. I'll have patience to play these games as opposed to the AWBW ones.

Basically lol - I was thinking that the first person to report a win becomes number 1, second person to report becomes number 2, etc etc, while the people they beat go to the bottom of the ladder, until we've got our starting order. Either that or once we've got 10-12 people I put everyone in an arbitrary/random order and we go there. If anyone's got an opinion on that then let me know, but to be honest the way the system works then if you deserve to be at the top you'll be able to get there pretty quickly either way.

Also I'm taking that as a signup Sven. ;)

Oh, and Gipface, if confirmation emails aren't working then get people to contact me via email/msn - thefalman@hotmail.com, I should be able to fix them up. Cheers.

Disconnects... hmm, I'm not sure. I'm hoping I can trust you guys to be honest - if you were losing at the time of the disconnect, then you should take the loss. If it's too close to call or the two players can't agree, we'll have to have replays I guess. Any suggestions on that are appreciated.

And Kitsune... oh fudge it, it's 4am but I'll play you now. Post your Friend Code, mine's in the DoR FC topic in this forum.

Oh, for reference, I didn't replace the Black Boats with Gunboats on Belligerence as you can now do silly things with them because of the new bridges. Just a heads up.
