The "Treed's So Cool!" Topic

Post by Treedweller » Sat Jan 26, 2008 11:49 am

Yeah, I'm wanting a topic where I can organize a couple battles against anyone who feels like facing me. In this topic, I'll list the maps that I've copied onto my DS (all of them can be found on AW BW unless otherwise stated if you search by map name) that we can play on; if you want to play on one of the maps I have copied, make sure you arrange to host the match prior to telling me you're ready, since that's the only way to select my own maps. And if you'd like to play on a map of your own creation, so long as it's balanced and has a decent FTA counter, I'll play on it unless it's unnecessarily lame.

So, here's my current maps copied on my DS:

1~ Whirly
2~ Pheasant (Remix)
3~ Dizziness
4~ Shin Sen Sluice
5~ Gyroptic
6~ Three
7~ Locked Bridge
8~ A Simple 1 Vs 1
9~ Are You Serious?
10 Mind Trap
11 Rocky Road Special
12
13 Winding Cliff
14 At The Limit
15 Aerial Aced

And here's my FC:

Post offers away, and note that I'll be available in an hour or so since I have to clean my apartment and make supper.

Current Win-Loss Ratio
: 6 (Muta, Sven x2, BG, Alty, Fogel) - 7 (Sven x4, Kimmy, BG x2), 46% Win

K dear, which map you want to play on?

Oh, and I'm gonna experiment with Greyfield if we play on Whirly or Dizziness.

Considering it's exam week coming up it's for the best, I'm probably not going to be playing that often.

The only things you need to do are add my FC, connect to WFC under the 'Friends' heading, then host a match. Once I join your hosted match, we'll both select 'No Chat' (because I don't talk with people online), and then you pick from my design maps and choose either Whirly, Pheasant, or Dizziness.

Then wa-la, you're ready to play against me.

Hey, you're learning dear. Your capture phase needs a little work, but overall, I think you're doing quite fine.

Yay I concede. 20 units vs 11 is nothnx. Next time I'm following up my Bike with another Bike instead of a Recon, I think that would've been a better choice X_x

Good game deary. It ended up being a good match, and I even made the fatal error of moving my Mech into OHKOing range of your Anti-Air that allowed your tanks to flood towards my indirects, but I guess I pressured you too much in the northeast section of the map for you to have taken full advantage of that situation.

Next you play though, I recommend not building quite so many Anti-Tanks and Dusters (as they ended up very ineffectual) and focusing more on your indirects which would've aided you tremendously. But, I think your major mistake was in the capture phase when you moved your bike towards 'my' factory, which ended up only hurting your economy in the end.

As for me, I learned from some mistakes, and I know what I won't repeat again, hee hee.

I haven't played Pheasant in awhile, so I forgot which side was meant for my own expansion, but I'll remember now =P If I could manage to delay you getting your Base for two or three days though, I think that would be worth it.

It's true that just massing Dusters would be too expensive, but they're still really good at walling thanks to Pheasant's chokeyness, and they do a whole lot better against Rockets than I had originally thought. I agree that I couldn't use Anti-Tanks all that well, and Artys would've done the job just as well for most of the time.

Mmm, I've played those three maps before on AWBW, but with the introduction of Bike, my whole capturing phase is such a mess on many maps I know... I'd like to receive those maps from you, Treed, so that I can refine my BO a bit!

In this game quite often less is more, and on those maps I sent you, Bikes make surprisingly wonderful early investments even if you don't get to fill all your factories with foot soldiers. Keep that in mind and keep experimenting.

Hee hee, this is quite fun so far. ^_^ Like I said, not rushing your bike to that Factory hurts your chances on Whirly considerably.
