Seriously, I have little experience with Vs., so I expect any decent player will wipe the floor with me. The fact that DoR is new might slightly level the playing field, but I expect I'll still lose anyhow.

So, who wants to prove me right?

I'm raring for a battle, so why not? My FC is on the first page of my topic or the FC topic, and I'll grab yours from the sticky. Which map (or type of map) are you particularly interested in playing on?

No particular preference, though a ground-only map might be a good place for me to start. I've got your code entered in already.

I might as well note my code here, too, just for the convenience of anyone who comes in later: 498340-410407

Okay... just so I'm clear on this, what exactly do I do after connecting? Do I need to use "Trade Maps" to get the map from you first? I haven't done this before, so I want to be sure I'm not doing something silly.

Oh, no, you don't have to do that dear, hee hee. All you have to do is go under 'Friends', connect, and join the group with the name 'Jihad'. Once you've done that, I'll set the rest of the settings and pick the map, and all you'll have to do is pick the CO.

The cool thing about DoR is we don't have to trade maps to play on it, so you don't have to worry about it.

You did fine for your first battle against a human Fogel, though next time I'd recommend a few more indirects over Tanks. Tanks are fairly easy to counter on this map with easy access to Mechs, and coupled with Isabella's power, I had an easy time destroying almost all your vehicles.

Okay, it's over. Good game.

In case you're wondering, I just made those last few attacks for the heck of it.

I was kind of surprised that you didn't attack my Medium Tank with your 5 HP artillery, but I realized afterwards that destroying that infantry instead gave you an opportunity to really box me in.

I've still got a lot to learn, but I think I did a little better than I expected.

Mechs turned out to be a fantastic unit to produce in the upper factory, and Bikes, Infantry and Artillery with a smattering of Tanks turned out to be a winning combination. Really though, considering the somewhat restrictive funding and the need to set up meatshields (since the map is rather open terrain wise), it's clearly meant to be a low tier battle.

Oh, and interestingly enough, I saw considerable use of a CO Unit Flare that allowed me to charge up Isabella's power early on in order to move my mechs to destroy Fogel's Tanks.

To be honest, I think my first mistake was using Will against Isabella.

Mind you, I don't think the match would have gone very differently if I'd picked somebody else. But that certainly didn't *help* me.

I enjoyed it, though. I'll probably be looking to play some more tomorrow.

Flares make especially interesting CO Units on for the initial phases of ground maps and will subsequently deal even more damage to Anti-Airs, so keep that in mind dears. Plus interestingly enough, some COs can even OHKO Foot Soldiers and Bikes inside a flare (notably Lin I think, though Forsythe and Brenner might be able to).

Brenner doesn't have enough firepower, but Will and Tabitha can both manage it fine. Forsythe and Isabella are both possibilities.
