As why wouldn't you vote the Chancellor of the last successful policy enacted?

I thought you couldn't pick the same chancellor twice? I had a run in with several limitations in a row last game.. Can't quite remember though, and haven't spotted it in the rules yet.

If no such limitation exists I see your point though.

Both the President and Chancellor who successfully enacted a policy last round cannot be chosen again as Chancellor in the next round. Anyone else is fair game.

E: it was in the rules, but maybe it wasn't clear enough. I've updated the rules now.

At what round does Hitler becoming chancellor end the game?

It's linked to the amount of enacted facist policies, 3 to be exact. After that it's Russian Roulette if Hitler has been acting liberal and he has evaded being inspected by a liberal.

Compared to mafia it's a more subtle wincon. It can be over for Hitler very quickly, or everybody can just be confused and apathetic near the end. Last game was likely to have been a facist victory if Satel was active enough to get picked near the end. But this game being more streamlined might reduce the difficulty for the liberals to win.

I'm curious about the odds facists win if the elections pairs were kept random, cards are being randomly used up, policy targets being random etc. Should favor facists if the tips are to be believed.

I'm not sure if the original games has anonymous voting. I'd guess it does, though. But the original game is also very much about trying to catch the other players off guard and have them reveal stuff through verbal or non-verbal fumbles. On a forum, where non-verbal communication doesn't take place and everyone can essentially take indefinetely long to think about their reply to a query from another player, we do have to change the rules around a bit to give the liberals a fighting chance.

And yeah, if there are at least three fascist policies in play and then Hitler is elected Chancellor, it will end the game. If Hitler enacts the third as Chancellor, it won't. There have to be three already in play the moment he gets elected.

And I would like for Hawke to get a move on :/

There's no reason to reelect anybody yet. It's still safe to pick anyone and everyone, and at this stage we're in an information gathering phase. From your government we can assume that both of you are trustworthy-ish (President gave a split decision, Chancellor picked liberal) and from mine we learned nothing because of the triple fascist draw.

Also, since Dragonite is the Chancellor, does that mean that he gets bumped from the government order since that would be two in a row?

No, the president's selection isn't restricted the same way the chancellor's is - do Dragonite gets to be part of two legislative sessions in a row.
